Bonus lesson: The Track Matte Key effect

[Instructor] - The track matte key effect is possibly my favorite effect in Premiere Pro, and it deserves a special mention. It allows you to use one clip to specify areas that'll be visible or transparent in another, and I've set up a sequence to demonstrate it right here. I'm in the track matte key sequence, and this has a background video clip and a foreground graphic. It doesn't really matter what the foreground item is. Whatever it is, we're going to use it as a reference to specify regions of transparency in our background. So I'm going to go to the effects panel, click into the search box, type in the word track, and there's the track matte key, and you apply the effect to the clip you want to change, not to the reference clip, so, I'll put this on the background, and of course nothing's going to happen right away.
