Choosing shots

- Let's begin editing our first scene between Joe and Susan, where Joe walks into the coffee shop, and is really happy to tell Susan his exciting news. I want to give you a sense of how the scene plays out as far as the actors' performance, and there isn't one shot that covers the entire scene, because the camera has to reset when Joe sits down. So, I'm going to play the first part, and then I'll play a multi-cam clip that encompasses both Susan and Joe's close-ups for the last part. So you'll get the gist of the characters' relationships and the emotional intentions of the scene. So I'm just going to go into Exercise Files, Chapter 3, and 3.1, and I'm going to load, first, this shot here, as Joe is entering the coffee shop, and we'll play this out, and then we'll cut to the multi-cam clip. (footsteps) - Cut. - Susan. - Oh, Joe, hi there. - I can't believe I ran into you here. - Oh please, sit. - So... Did you hear? - I'm not sure. - It's official, I got the news. - Oh, Joe, wow! -…
