Compression goals for video-sharing websites

- Often these days, we are making our exports to be uploaded to a video-sharing platform such as YouTube, or Vimeo, even Facebook. It's worth taking a second to think about the goals for the type of the file we want to create to upload to those sites. A couple general points: First, these sites are applying more compression to your video after you upload. Therefore, the goal, generally, usually, is to create a video file that is small enough to upload but still maintains as much as the quality as possible. You're not really making a final export. It's going to be processed again. The second point to be made is that these parameters are constantly changing. In fact, one of the benefits of the video-sharing sites is that they can continually improve their processes to deliver high-quality video, as bandwidth change and codecs change, and browsers change, it's always a thing in motion.
