- DCP stands for Digital Cinema Package. And it's a delivery format for projection in cinemas for film festivals or theatrical releases. Adobe Media Encoder is able to create these files, but, similar to how we talked about disc-based media, there are some more steps to actually author these files and save them to the proper type of disc for delivery. Let's take a look at how we create the files. I'm here in Encoder and I have a sample file queued up. I'm going to choose the format raptor_DCP, and, you'll see that there's only really two choices and they are 24 frames per second or 25 frames per second for PAL. So, if we've shot 24 frames per second, we'll go ahead and choose that. Hopefully, you are at a progressive format already in your editing. I would not recommend using this to convert from an interlaced format to 24 frames per second. You can experiment with that, but not recommended.
