Creating a caption track from scratch
- One of the great powerful features of Premiere Pro is being able to build your own caption track directly in the tool. And it's a couple little fiddly bits that I wanna make sure we cover. Let's take a look on my screen here. I'm gonna create my own caption track by going to the New icon, and choosing Captions, and picking a size that matches my footage. My footage is 1280 by 720. And I'm going to say OK. I now pick what kind of captions. I'm gonna pick 708, Service 1 is fine, that's the digital format, I'm gonna say OK. And I'm gonna name these captions a little bit better. I'm gonna call this PSA captions. And I'm gonna drag this directly on to my timeline. Now, I'm not seeing this at all. It says Type Caption Text Here. This is my Captions panel. It's not open. You can do it under the Windows menu. And if we're not seeing it, because these are 708 captions. My Premiere under my wrench, is set to for Closed Captions, the setting 608.
