Creating a selection for secondary correction

- The first thing we need to do in order to use the HSL secondary control is make an initial selection. This is the define stage, and there are a series of tools to make this easier. Let's go in here and open up the shot, and using HSL Secondary, I'm going to use the key controls. First, take the eye dropper and click on something that you want. You'll see that it makes an initial selection where it defines the hue, the saturation, and the luma value. I then, suggest that you view this as a mask. Color plus black can be useful, or over gray, or a black and white matte, but ultimately think of it this way, if I just limited this selection on hue, it affects a lot, and this really defines what's selected, but now when I add saturation, it's less. I can feather this for a more gentle transition, and that's pretty good there. It's really doing a nice job of spreading that out for a gradual blend.
