- Okay, multi camera means a lot of elements going on at the same time. So communication is pretty important. Combining all of these elements in one shoot means you need to be able to communicate with each other as if you are one, one team. A really good collaboration. So there's lots of ways of doing that. There's electronic ways, from comms and headsets and radios, to very very organic things like hand signals and such. - You need to find a balance here as you put the pieces together. Now, in a normal set, if you were doing something film style or a TV commercial, I could be talking. There might not even be dialogue being recorded. We could be directing the talent and talking everything through. But when you're doing a live-style shoot which many multi-camera shoots are, there's no communication. Or maybe you're at something like a concert where you really can't talk. For example, I've done a lot of concerts where we've had to do this, and in that case I like to take a simplified…
