Export with proxies
- Proxy files are low resolution versions of hi-res media. And they're often used for mobile editing or for collaboration. A proxy file allows you to shrink down a large file and use that reference material. And then, later on reconnect. This is an entire workflow that's beyond the scope of this class, but it is quite useful. The change here is that now proxy files can be used when you go to export, if you just need to make a quick review copy. Maybe you've got proxy material in, you see here I've enabled proxies, and it's using the proxy material. You can turn that button on and off, here, with the button editor. And if we look at the clips in the bin, you'll see that proxy media has been generated as well for some of these clips, you can do this when you ingest, choose to create proxy media. You'll notice, for example, that if you're using the media browser and you choose the ingest option for import, that works…
