Extruding a still in 3D space to create a backdrop

- Sometimes when working with still images, I'll create 3D versions to really add a bit more depth to my scene. Let me show you how. Now, this file has already been cut up, but you can open up the Photoshop document, and if you look at the Layers version, you'll see that it's just been cut in pieces. The mountain was cut out and the cactus were as well. Now this was done pretty easily using a series of layers and if you need to learn more about masking and selections, you can watch some of the other courses here in the online library. But by cutting things into pieces and then clearly labeling them, this is going to be pretty easy to use. So, now back here inside of After Effects, let's take a look. You can import something using File, Import, File and bring in that Photoshop document as a composition. And you just click the Open button. That's what's been done here.
