Fixing overexposed footage

- If you've used Photoshop chances are you've explored blending modes. They allow you to mix the contents of one layer with another. Motion graphic designers use them as well, but they are available to you in Premier Pro and can be quite useful for color correction and exposure fixes. Let's take a look at a common problem - overexposure. I'll go upper level here and go into my next bin, bin 10. Holding down the modifier key, I'll open up that bin and we'll start with sequence 10.1. What I want to do is duplicate the shot. So this can be done a couple of ways. If you hold down the alt or option key, you can drag a copy above and it makes a second instance. Now, from the opacity controls for that effect, just make sure the top layer is selected, you can adjust the blending mode. You'll see that the first section will darken. The second will lighten and the third deals with overlays. For example, soft light, very gentle. If we add that together in screen mode, you see it gets brighter…
