Flattening multicamera sequences and final mastering
- Now that the show's just about done, we can easily duplicate the sequence and flatten it to reduce the performance hit. If you're trying to playback six streams of HD video, or even higher, off of a single drive, you might notice a bit of a lag. This is a way to smooth things out before you go for final export, or for playing back. Flatting does remove the multi-camera process, so you want to do it towards the end of the workflow, and always to a copy of your sequence. In the project panel here, I'll simply locate my sequences, here's the version that I've cut with, and I can duplicate that, and I'll simply rename this Smoothies_Output, and while we're at it, let's rename this other one Smoothies_Finecut. With the output sequence open, I'll double-click there, let's maximize this window. Put the cursor over it and press the accent grave key, and you'll see your sequence with all the multi-camera angles. Well, what I'm going to do is select that, making sure everything is active, and…
