The Levels effect
- An older effect that's often used to adjust exposure is the Levels Effect. If you are a graphic designer or you come from a Photoshop background this effect may seem a bit familiar. Now, I encourage you to eventually switch to the Lumetri Effect, but the Levels Effect is also quite useful, let's work with sequence 7-1 and you'll see the before and after here on the shot. A definite improvement in overall detail and contrast. Well, I'd like you to try, what you can do is just open up the Effects panel, let's redock this here, and I'll type in Level, and you'll notice that we have a video effect called Levels, let's just drag that on to the clip, and it gives us all of these sliders and controls. Now this is okay, but it's a little bit cumbersome. What we're looking at here is the ability to make an overall adjustment. And essentially, let's think of it this way.
