- Everyone talks about loudness. And there is even legislation about loudness called the CALM Act, that's C-A-L-M. So what is the CALM Act? Well, the FCC rules that commercials need to have the same average volume as the programs that they appear on. CALM stands for commercial advertisement loudness mitigation. It is because of these regulations that broadcasters pay close attention to programs that you may deliver to them. Let's go ahead and open sequence 7.3, Loudness Monitoring. So go to sequences chapter seven 7.3 and here we go. Now let's go ahead and open the Audio Track Mixer, and there you go. And now we're going to add the Loudness Radar on the Master Track. So this is the master track. I'm going to add it to the second slot here. So click Special Loudness Radar and then double click the name of the effect so that the interface opens up. We can use different presets in here but I like the top one. So…
