- Like every version of Premiere Pro, Adobe has added support for new camera formats so that people can work with footage natively. Native editing means that the footage doesn't need to be transcoded before you can work with it. One of the ones that I'm personally happy with is the new Canon XF High Efficiency Video Codec format. Now you can bring these in directly and it will also work with the H.264 format. But the HEVC, also known as H.265, works well. It's a 10-bit codec format with 422 encoding. So this works quite well, and it's got lots of great information in it. It's worked on both Mac and PC. So it's going to be available, but it does not work if you're using a trial version. Your version of Premiere Pro does need to be activated. They've also added support for Canon's C500 Mark II camera.
