- Exporting open caption information is very straightforward and the only question is whether or not you want the open captions to actually appear. Remember, once you've burned them in, they don't go away. So at least for yourself for mastering, you probably wanna export it both ways. One with the information and one without. I have this open captions timeline that I built a little bit earlier in this class. And I'm gonna to up to the file menu and chose to export my media. And again that's a command M for exporting on the Macintosh, I'm commanding my media. And I control M to controlling my media on the PC. And this brings up my dialogue box for exporting. I'm already on the captions tab here and regardless of what format I pick, whether it's a DCP meant for theater projection, a Quicktime file that gets used in all sorts of different ways or something as specific as an MXF OP1a that often will go out to say a play out server.
