- When talking about signal flow, the biggest concept to truly understand is pre-fader and post-fader, because, a lot of times the signal flow comes up to the fader, and then out of the fader, and if you don't really understand where the gain, or gain attenuation or addition is happening, then you can't really manage it. There's no way for you to manage what's happening pre-fader or post-fader, if you don't understand where in the signal flow you're at. And it's really quite simple. If you think about it in the way of just having a simple signal flow coming through, your fader's in the middle, and then, post-fader, the signal flow goes through. In Premiere, the audio track mixer is a great tool to understand signal flow, and pre-fader and post-fader. So if you're running audio, you can see that it's hitting, (white noise plays) post-fader, it's coming up, and it's pre-fader it's hitting, and then, bring it up, it's coming over here, and then it's going out.
