Proxy and high-res workflows, part 1
- Sometimes when you're working with a project, you may find yourself wanting to work with a low resolution version. Well, this can be quite useful because it allows you to take the material and work with it at one resolution, and then easily add it to a project and reconnect it later on. This will give you a lot of flexibility as you work. These proxy files could be the same resolution, but a different codec if you want, or you can down convert them to an even smaller file if you choose to. With the project open, you can go into the project file itself and select a folder such as the video folder. Now, choose all your assets and right click. You'll see a built in option here for proxies. Proxies are low resolution files. Now you also have this option if you take a look at your new project settings. You'll notice that when you set a project up, there is the option for ingest. This is where you could decide that when you import, you choose to copy the material or create proxies at the…
