Red Giant quick start
- While there are many different plugin companies out there, Red Giant is well established, offering several different tools for Premiere Pro and After Effects. They have a bundle called the Keying Suite that offers a lot of different tools, and while we can't cover them all, I'd like to show you a few that are useful. Let's start here with the sequence labeled Red Giant, and I'm going to select my footage layer. From the Effects menu, I'll go down to the Primatte Keyer, which is part of the Red Giant package. This allows you to do a key, and it's similar to Key Light, but a little bit different. For example, you'll notice that there's the ability here to choose from different footage type to clean it up and remove some artifacts built in, which is nice. Additionally, I can click Auto, and it will analyze the shot and attempt to get a key for me. And as a one-click solution, that's pretty enticing.
