Relighting a scene with the Lighting Effects effect

- An interesting effect is the lighting effect which allows you to add simulated lights to a scene. I'm a big fan of putting this on an adjustment layer though so you can have more control. Here's how it works. Let's go back to the project panel, and we'll open up the next sequence. In this case you'll see the after state and the before state. Well rather than applying the lighting effect directly to the footage I'm going to add a new adjustment layer. This'll automatically create an adjustment layer that matches the frame rate and dimensions of my scene. When I click okay it's added to the bin and I can simply drop it over the shot. As needed feel free to trim the handles. Now you can apply the lighting effects. Just go in and type in the word lighting to the search box. It's in the adjust category and you can drag and drop that on the scene. In doing so it will add a simulated light. You'll see that you can simulate multiple lights in this case, up to five. Let's take a look at that…
