- While EQ and compression can really come in handy, another problem that sometimes faces clips is background noise, and as somebody who frequently goes out into the field, there's a lot of reasons for this. Maybe you're shooting in a location where there's a lot of hum from machinery, or you're recording and you're outdoors near a busy street. Sometimes you just can't deal with this, and no matter how hard the audio engineer works in the field, you know that there's just going to be something that has to happen in post. Cheryl, you do a lot of work for broadcast.
