- It's possible if somebody gets quite excited or there's a lot of sound into a microphone, it can clip. And that's just where the signal gets crushed at the top, right? - Right, it gets distorted, it sounds horrible and the waveform looks cut off, literally like a buzz cut. - All right, well, this is a common problem, not if you hire a good audio engineer or you work in controlled situations, but it is something you'll face. I find that it pops up not as often as noise reduction, but it still raises its ugly head from time to time. So we've opened up a new sequence here where we've got some clipping. And if we expand the view here, and let's just make this a bit taller, I could really see the issue there, it just kind of smashes into the top. - [Cheryl] Right, exactly, it's just literally cut off. It's not a gain issue for the clip, it's not clipping Premiere, but the energy itself when the clip was made, the data, it was clipped off. You can even see the waveforms chopped off…
