Removing material for concision

- [Instructor] I've continued laying in my interview soundbites and everything is generally in the right order. But because we're dealing with real people who are expressing their own thoughts and ideas, not everything is presented in the most concise of manners. There are pauses and ums and ahs and rephrases that can be cleaned up, which is what we're going to do here. We'll examine how to remove material using lifts, extractions, and basic trims. All right, so before we dig into individual soundbites, I do just want to briefly cover removing entire shots. If I want to get rid of one shot or multiple shots, I just need to select them, and then if I press delete on the keyboard, then a gap is left in its wake. This is called a lift, getting rid of material and leaving this gap. Let me undo that, cmd + Z, and instead if I select the shot or shots and I press opt + delete or alt + backspace on a PC, everything ripples…
