- Shooting with a tripod is great. You're guaranteed to get a sharp shot. You know your position. I could match it to the background and get, really, the composite that I wanted initially. But I really like free hand shooting. I like to be able to roam around, work with my talent, just have some fun. And I'll get some wide shots that I can use in the background, I might get some closeups that I could put onto different backgrounds, but the whole idea is to have some fun and to get, again, that dynamics. Now, one thing to keep in mind is that, when you're moving, you still want to have sharp shots. So you should keep your shutter speed at at least 125th of a second. Most strobes can match that. And if you need to, depending on your camera, you might be able to notch that up to 160, 200, and even 250th of a second.
