Tracking masks for advanced secondary color correction

- When working with a shot, we have the ability to easily target a specific color. That's where the curve comes in. But remember, you also have masking controls. Now, you can use five five if you want, and in this case, I shifted the car to be green. I'm going to keep working with the previous example where I took it to red, but you can work with either. In this case, everything looks fine except certain parts of the shot were being affected. I could tell, for example, that if I look at the curve, the jacket here is also being changed. Well, that's okay if it doesn't bother you, but there's no reason you have to have that shift. Remember, just double click on the shot and go to the effect controls. Now what you can do is click to add a mask. My suggestion is add a shape that's about right and you can then pull the handles as needed. There we go. Then, play with the overall feather controls and if needed, the expansion. Now what you're going to notice is that the shot is moving. So feel free to try using the tracking controls. However, since this car passes behind, those controls may not work. Let's first track to the left. So far, so good, tracking is working quite nicely. Let's see if it gets thrown by this bicyclist. Nope, it's handling the scaling, and the pan pretty well. All right, let's come here and track forward. So far so good, but let's see if it gets confused with anything else. Well, no, actually handled it. But what we could do, of course, is manually just select the mask path and move this around. If you do so, it's going to add its own key frames every time you drag. But in this case, very powerful. If we take a look at that shot now, I have a red car and a blue jacket. Very, very powerful with these curves and when you add masks, you could be as specific as you want.
