- [Narrator] So if you're following along with Premiere Pro I'm here in my Chapter 2_3 sequence. We're gonna take some examples of how we can make text more legible to our viewers. Here I have a piece of text on top of video, that's the first example here, and what we wanna do is actually, in this case, draw a little bit of distance between the text and the background. One easy way to do that is to select the text, and if we go to the properties or appearance options here at the bottom, you have the option of placing a drop shadow behind the text. Which adds this shadow that happens to be gray-ish in color, but it's been minimized in terms of its opacity. You can take this shadow, of course, and make it much more visible, however if you're trying to be subtle, one thing you could do is just lower this opacity, in essence creating some distance between the background and the text, not to mention combine this with other properties that are down here, too.
