Types of AI
In this movie, we're going to take a look at some of the different types of AI, artificial intelligence. First thing that we want to look at is actually narrow AI, also known as weak AI. It is a artificial intelligence system that is developed and trained for a particular task. In fact, this is the type of AI that we're going to become most familiar with when we talk about working in post production. These happen to be, in some cases, really well-trained algorithms that originally used machine learning to develop the algorithm, but then when placed inside the actual software, they don't think for themselves. They're basically programmed to perform a single task. Sometimes they might be performed to match color, maybe perform to duck certain types of audio, maybe they're performing to reduce a certain type of noise. And again, they're very good at these routine cognitive jobs. It can't really take a task beyond its field.…
