- Let's take a deeper look at the Premiere Pro project file format. It's really quite amazing all the things that a project can hold. When you launch Premiere Pro, you'll be prompted to create a new project. On the welcome screen, you can choose New Project. Additionally, if you're within the application and you want to make another project, you can also select File, New, new project. Both will do the same thing. A new dialog opens and asks you to specify several things about your project. I'm going to name this project Start and browse to choose a location. I can also use the pop up list to access recently accessed places. In this case, I'll browse to my desktop and make a new folder with my initials and store it inside of there for easy cleanup. Now the information is located on three tabs. Getting this right is important. Let's start with the General tab. Here we can select the Renderer.
