Using RGB curves

- By default, a curve applies equally to red, green, and blue. However, you can isolate an individual curve for each channel. This can be useful to solve color balance issues or to create mood. Let's go to the next sequence here: Using RGB Curves. In this case, I'm going to bring up the RGB Parade so you can see this a little better. And we'll hide the Waveform monitor. Well in this shot, things look pretty good. We've got decent skin tones and nice, rich blue. But the original shot was very underexposed and the blues are out of balance. Let's fix this. I'll start with a general curve. There we go. And we'll begin to lift the middle tones. Lifting the shadows. That's helping a lot and even with the highlights a little. There we go. And now we've got a decent overall exposure, but the blues are out of balance. Let's start by adding in the most deficit channel, the reds. Now, of course, you can come up to Basic Correction and attempt to do this with the Temperature and Tint slider as…
