Using effects as a transition

- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to take a look at using effects as a transition. And there are some great ways of creating this inside of Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm here in my chapter 1_8 sequence, and what we're going to do, first of all, go to our preferences and under the Premiere Pro preferences on a Mac or edit preferences on a PC, I'd like you to head to your timeline settings. We were here earlier where we changed the video transition default duration in an earlier movie. But what we're interested in is the still image default duration. Instead of five seconds, we're going to set this to be one period. I'm just going to now click in a gray area. And this is going to set that still image duration to one second. This also affects how long adjustment layers are, which is a great source to apply an effect to where we can key frame the opacity to create a transitional effect. I'll press Okay. And to see…
