- [Instructor] Using masks inside of Premiere Pro to limit an effect to a specific region is an extremely powerful workflow. I'm here in my chapter 02_12 sequence. And in my Effect workspace in my Effects tab, which I currently have open. Let's head to the Blur section where we can apply a gaussian blur to our overall clip. We'll click on Effect Controls with our clip selected to revel the gaussian blur property. And set the blurriness value to 50 in this case and limit that to the horizontal axis. We'll also repeat edge pixels. In this instance, we only want the gaussian blur to affect everything but the runner. And this is where the use of a mask can be handy. Right underneath the gaussian blur is our ability to create an ellipse mask, a four-point polygon mask as well as draw our own mask. Let's choose to create a four-point polygon. And we'll make that roughly the size of the running path. You should notice…
