Using the waveform monitor

- In order to help you with color correction, there are scopes. Scopes are great because they're not subject to external things. Your eyes could be affected by being dehydrated, the time of day, if you're tired. Additionally, environmental factors like lighting, the color of the room, or ambient light coming in from a different source can affect you. But scopes do not lie. They're absolute so even if your monitor is profiled incorrectly, or the brightness is turned down, you can still trust the scopes, so let's start by taking a look at one of the most important ones. Up first is the waveform monitor. You can go up here to the clip and I'll press the plus key to zoom in a little bit. Let's press X to mark that clip and I'll press play. You'll notice that as the clips play, you can see content on the scope. Now the scopes area lets you choose which scope you're working with.
