- Now, let's go over what the different options in the Export settings are. As you already know, the format is one thing, but the codec is another. We are able to change the codec by choosing the format and then different presets, but they are presets. What if the codec that you need is not in any of the presets? Well, let's see what all of these settings refer to. In the Premiere Pro project, please go ahead and open the sequence named 2.2 Video. Double-click it from the project panel, and of course it opens in the timeline. Now I'm going to use the shortcut to export it, and that is Control + m, or Command + m on the Mac. Of course, this opens the Export Settings dialogue. I'm going to go ahead and change the format to an H.264.
