Waveforms

Waveforms

- Most of the time, audio in Premiere Pro is represented by waveforms. You can easily see these in the timeline. The height of the waveform shows the audio amplitude, which is the loudness. So the taller the waveform, the louder the audio. The waveforms are being created by the .cfa files. So if you ever have issues with the graphical display of the audio, you could delete these files and prevent Premiere Pro from rendering them again. Let's try that. Open the sequence named 1.3 Waveforms, and expand the audio track so that you can see the waveforms a little bit better. To expand the audio track, press and hold the Alt or Option key and place your mouse cursor on the track header section of your timeline. Then you can use the mouse scroll wheel to expand or contract these tracks. If you add Shift to this, all of your tracks will become taller and/or shorter, depending on how you scroll the mouse wheel. You also have the ability to save this expanded view as a preset.
