Why use green screen for video?

- The question is why use green screen for video? Two main points, flexibility and budget. Green screen gives an immense about of flexibility because once the green is removed, you can put anything you want back there. You can put a fantastic star background, or a mountainscape, or you can keep it in the corporate world and replace it with some branded graphics to match a campaign, or some presentation elements, things like that. The other aspect is budget. Green screen gives you great flexibility when it comes to budget. Because, if you can't shoot in actual production locations, for example, you can't shoot in front of the Grand Canyon, or you can't travel to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, you can certainly make it look like your subject was there by replacing the background with the Grand Canyon, or the Eiffel Tower, or just replacing your background with an interesting location that you can't travel to.
