Working with media

- Media organization starts on the field. If it's not organized well on the field, you're going to have trouble in post-production or you're just going to have to reorganize it all anyways. So it's very important to have someone in the field responsible for transferring and organizing media. - Media management is a pretty important job because it's the thing that is the culmination of everybody's hard work on set during the day. So in an ideal world and in higher budget productions, there is a job description called Media Manager or Data Wrangler, and so ideally, there would be a person whose job it is, is to manage media, especially since there's going to be a lot of it when there's multiple cameras. So the second part of making that job successful is a standardized procedure, routine if you will, that takes the footage from the camera, ingest it into hard drives, and onto post-production.
