The sync sound workflow

- So far today, we haven't been recording any audio during any of our captures. So, it's very often you're going to have to record sound to give some dialogue or narration or anything like that. DSLRs, or mirrorless cameras, aren't necessarily really good for recording sound internally. You're either going to need some type of adapter or you're going to need some extra pieces of equipment. The way to go is to do what's called sync sound, or sometimes it's called double system. The easiest way is to use an external recorder, like this, to record your sound. So you can see we've got a microphone right over Sara there and that microphone is running directly into our external recorder. And that's great because that microphone is really close to her and the quality of the audio running into an external recorder like this is going to be much superior than going directly into your mirrorless or DSLR camera.
