Add and embed video

- [Instructor] Prezi is a true multimedia presentation tool in that in addition to texts and images you can also embed video right into your presentation. Video is a great way to further bring your prezi to life by including interview segments shots of your product and action. The ad of your marketing department put together and so on. The ability to add a video is available to prezi subscribers with a plus or higher subscription plan. Now, there are two ways you can add video to your Prezi. You can embed a YouTube video link or you can embed a video file directly into your prezi. And there are pros and cons to both approaches. Now we already know that Prezi requires a live internet connection unless you're using the desktop app to present with. So if you already have an internet connection embedding a YouTube link is probably the easiest option. Directly embedding a video file into your prezi. It means you don't need an internet connection but you do have to be using the Prezi desktop presentation software and a plus level account or higher in order to present your Prezi offline. Also prezi recommends keeping your individual video file sizes below 50 megabytes, if possible for the best performance. But if you met a YouTube video, you don't really have to worry about video file size or length. So let's take a look at both methods and you can decide for yourself which one will work best in any given situation. I'm still working with the same prezi here. I'm just going to zoom in a bit here to the upper right-hand corner. Now I want to add a YouTube link first. I have a tab open here with the YouTube video I want to show (soft music) So I'm just going to copy the address out of here. I can go back to my prezi and I'll click insert video here we have an embed YouTube section here, so I can just press command V or control V on windows to paste and then click insert. And there it is. And I can drag that up here to the upper right I can really make this video element any size I like because we'll end up zooming into it anyway. Now, if I go into the overview and into presentation mode at any time during my presentation I can click the video and it'll start playing (soft music) And I press escape to leave full screen. So that's how easy it is to add a YouTube video to your prezi. Now, if you have a movie file that you want to upload directly into your prezi that's pretty simple too bear in mind again that you should try to keep the file size under 50 megabytes videos, you upload also have to be saved in the MP4 video format and the audio should be in the AAC audio format. Now this YouTube video I uploaded is not part of a topic so it won't automatically show up when I'm going through my presentation, in order to play it I have to click it while presenting. This might be a good thing. For example if you're not sure you have time to show a video you can just insert it and place it off to the side. You might even want to make a thumbnail really tiny so your audience can see it. And if it turns out, you do have time to show it. You just zoom in and click it at any point. However, if you do want to make your video part of the order of your presentation, so that it comes up when you want it to you'll have to place it into a topic. So I'll add a new topic and I've just changed the title here to say video and I can click it to somewhere over here, to zoom into it. I'll delete this placeholder text. And again, I'll come to the insert menu and choose video. And this time I'm going to choose to upload my file. And again, you can browse for a video on your computer in your Prezi library or through a cloud service like Dropbox, Google drive, or one drive. I'll browse for the video I have on my computer here in my exercise files. I have a file called Landon kayaks, select that one. And there it is. I can, I can resize it a bit if I like And place it where I want. Now, if I go back up a step and go into present mode I can go through my presentation, pressing the space bar to go from topic to topic. And once I reached the video, it'll play automatically. (soft music) And the advantage again is that this doesn't require a live internet connection and it doesn't have the YouTube branding on it. Press escape, go back to my overview. And in this case, I'm just going to select these and delete them cause we don't really need them right now. But there you have two ways of adding videos to your Prezi presentation, either through a YouTube link or by directly uploading a video to your Prezi account.
