Free float vs. Total float - Primavera Tutorial
From the course: Advanced Primavera P6
Free float vs. Total float
- [Instructor] When logic is correctly applied, your schedule can accurately calculate the float time, which is also called slack. Now, there are two types of float. To the far right, we have the Total Float, which is the amount of time that an activity can be delayed without delaying the project finish date. Right next to it is the Free Float, which is the amount of time that an activity can be delayed without delaying the successor activity. You want to pay attention to both, but pay special attention to the Total Float, as it indicates how well your project is going at the moment. Don't let it slip too much before addressing it.
