Short folds
- Short folds are an exciting solution for modifying broadside folds. If you don't know what a broadside fold is, you'll wanna check out movie number four in this chapter. So the difference between a broadside fold and a short fold is that instead of folding the sheet in half, so that all panels are the same height, a short fold is folded short of half ways, so that half of the panel are shorter in height than the other half. How much shorter they are is up to you. And here's where it gets fun. Short folds offer all kinds of creative opportunities because of their flexibility. First of all, you can short fold to the inside or outside of the piece. What this means is that you can either have the short fold flipped to the outside, so that it shows up on the cover and back cover of the piece, or you can reveal the short fold on the interior when the piece is opened.
