- The indispensable tool for selecting paper is a swatch book. Established as a primary way of organizing paper grades in the late 19th century, swatch books are the ultimate roadmap to discovering every kind of paper. They're full of detailed product information, and they're the perfect tool to help you understand what is and what is not available for your print project. Swatch books are a sampler, and they're usually organized, as you can see here, in a waterfall of each finish, color, and weight available.
