- Here's a little quiz for you. This is a four panel brochure. What folding style is this? If you guessed accordion or roll fold, or closed gate, you might be right. And you might be wrong. Often times, any folded brochure laid out flat could be one of many configurations. And when you send a laser mock-up to your printer, it can go through several hands. The sales rep, the production team, press and bindery. It can get flattened out and folded back up again several times, which means there are lots of opportunities to fold it incorrectly. So when you send a laser mock-up to the printer, turn it into a folding sequence dummy to make sure that the printer knows exactly how it should fold. All it takes is a moment and a pen.
