Acoustic guitar peak limiter trick

- [Bobby] Sometimes, acoustic guitars can be a bear to fit into the mix when they have a lot of dynamics. Many times, players get excited and really bash the strings. But using a peak limiter can bring the sound back to earth so it fits well in the mix. Let's listen to the song first, with the acoustic guitar only, and then, I'll unsolo it so you can hear how it fits in the rest of the mix. (acoustic guitar solo) (several instruments) (acoustic guitar solo) (several instruments) Now, as you can hear, there are some strums that are really loud and some strums that aren't quite as loud. Generally speaking, it's well played, but we have a wide variation between the really loud strums and the ones that aren't. A compressor sometimes just can't get a hold of that because the difference between the loud and soft strums are just a little too great. So, we'll have to use a limiter instead.
