Add body to the snare drum
- [Voiceover] I'm going to start this video by reading you another actual mix note I received, and it's a long one. "The overall snare sound could use some more body. It's very top-end heavy, but missing the fatness. There might be too much real snare, or that alt-snare in the mix. Maybe it's the cymbal bleed in the mics that I hear in the snare that's making it sound too top-end and aggressive. Maybe use some more of the samples." So the samples he's referring to is this producer added quite a number of samples to the mix. And in fact, when I addressed that note, that's exactly what I did. But since we're on the subject of the EQ glossary, I want to show you a different way I could have approached that. So to do that, I'm going to turn all these samples off, and deal with just the snare, the actual snare, top and bottom mic.
