Add some ambience to your percussion

- [Instructor] Percussion tracks can really take a song to the next level, but they're so easy to wash out with effects. Here's a trick that will put some space around any percussion instrument, yet never get in the way. First of all let's listen to our track. There are four percussion instruments here. We got a tambourine, sleigh bells, snaps, and shaker. So listen to the entire track with everything in, all the instruments. ("Happy Birthday" by Patricia Bahia) Everything's in there, it's kind of hard to pick out because it's mixed pretty well. They're doing what they're supposed to be doing and that's adding motion. You don't necessarily want to zero in on a percussion track at all, but you want to feel it, you want to know it's there. Let's listen to each of them. (tambourine rattling) That's a mono-tambourine track and of course you can hear a little bit of veer around it.
