- [Narrator] Just like automating the volume on the lead vocal can help make your mix more exciting and focused, automation on effects parameters can spice up vocals in the mix, as well. Here, we'll automate a filter on an effects delay to give you an idea of how automation can be used to give your effects more dimension. Here, I have my lead vocal track sending on a bus to a delay effects return. I'm gonna insert a delay into this effects return. I'm gonna go and just put on the mod delay three. Again, it's the stock delay effect that comes with Pro Tools. Here, I'm gonna put in a really rhythmic eighth note delay. I'll just link the left and right parameters and I'll make sure sync is turned on, and I'll click the eighth note. Now, I'm gonna turn up the feedback quite a bit because I want this to feedback and have a lot of repeats. We're gonna do this right at the end of the bridge.
