- [Instructor] In this movie, I want to read you a note I received while mixing this song. And when I read it, I was a little puzzled, and I'll show you why. It said, "Make chorus bass more buzzy and bombastic. "And I would like the bottom end to be more "round and punchy." Now, that sounds like a contradiction to me. So when I opened the session, what I found out was both could be achieved, because what this song contained were two bass parts, here's this one. It's listed DI but it's a synthesizer bass, and then this Moog bass. I'll play you this song first. This is "Carefree" by Stefan Pruett, and here is the second release, which he calls a chorus. ("Carefree" by Stefan Pruett) So he's asked for more roundness and more buzz. By the way, this is the bound side sheet after that note, so I probably just listening to it now, turned the whole thing up.
