Basic mixer terminology

- The fundamental job of an audio mixer is to route incoming and outgoing audio, via the mixers inputs and outputs. and processing can be achieved using the mixer's Let's go over some basic terminology for general audio mixing, An input is a signal path leading into an audio system. At the opposite end is the output, providing a signal path out of the audio system. that fall inline with the signal flow from the input to the output. This means that any processing done at insert applies to 100% of the signal The send is a mix ouput of one or more audio channels that's routed for parallel processing. This basically means we can take a split of the signal traveling through the channel to reintroduce a sent signal back into the mix. So if we take a split of the signal and send it to a parallel processing destination, the return is how that signal is reintroduced. A pre-fader signal is a signal that is derived so that means pre-fader signals are not affected by the channel fader position.…
