Brightening something
- [Instructor] For our first foray into EQ'ing program material, I have chosen background vocals to brighten. So this is what I want to show you, it's a few of the techniques to brighten background vocals, but it applies to many different sets of program material, but this is a nice one to listen to, and quite effective for our demonstration. So here we are, I'm scrolling through the different tracks that we have for background vocals, and there's quite a number of them. I'm going to start at this B section. And to brighten something, I have various different techniques. I'll go through a couple of them for you. So here's a very nice equalizer. We talked about air in the descriptors, and here's what this air EQ sounds like. ♫ When the music's not enough ♫ To be okay ♫ What will be okay? - [Instructor] It's got a lot of muscle, this EQ. You can vary the amount of muscle with these sliders, and curves with the more pointed curves. Very effective equalizers for brightening with air, and…
