- [Narrator] I'd like to cover two topics in this movie under general technique number three, and that is the cautionary tale of too much compression resulting in what's called breathing or pumping. If somebody tells you your mix is pumping too much, that means you've probably over compressed it, and I have here a setting which is just horrendous, but it demonstrates easily on a whole program material what pumping and breathing sounds like.
