- [Instructor] For a long time, all the hits that you heard were on the dry side, effects wise. That said, there was more there than you realize because it blended so well into the track. Big reverbs are coming back in style though, so here's a trick that can put that verb right in your face. First of all, let's listen to the track without any effects, completely dry. (country song) Let's listen to the vocal. I'm going to solo it up and we have our old friend the D-verb on it and D-verb is set to 27 milliseconds of pre-delay and 3.5 seconds of decay time. So I'm going to gradually bring this in. (vocals sung) That sounds pretty good. Let's listen to the track. (country song playing) That kind of sticks out of the track but it does sound pretty good and we didn't even do anything to it yet. So, let's add a compressor after the reverb and have a listen to what it sounds like. I'm just going to put in the standard Pro Tools native compressor limiter and we'll solo it up and let's listen.…
